The timing is perfect for this, as one of my most favorite bands @DepecheMode just announced their 1st tour in 5 years. π I have posted before about 2 of these items I’m wearing. A shacket (shirt jacket) and my updated “I could walk for miles” Dr. Marten inspired Vionic boots. The shacket is from non other than… Costco! I’m personally not the biggest fan of shopping at Costco. But I was there with my parents and spotted this shacket. Love the colors, the soft plush “sherpa” lining and the price is phenomenal. $16.99! Here’s the link. SWEATA WEATHA is upon us! π
Obsessed with my new platform loafers by Franco Sarto. They are amazingly comfy and just what fall ordered. The only thing missing is a slot for a penny. π Oh yes. I owned a burgundy loafer in my grade school days and definitely had a penny shoved in them. I actually think they were part of the required uniform I wore, now that I think about it. π€ Style them with jeans. But not a skinny jean. These bulkier shoes will look off balance with a skinny jean, imo. And yes, I still wear skinny jeans! Not giving them up. π Or pair with khaki pants or a knit knee length skirt. Throw a cardigan over a t-shirt or a crisp button down white blouse. They literally go with most anything. Found these navy beauts @ DSW. Here’s the link.
Here are my picks from all the fab looks from the evening. β‘1-Reese Witherspoon in Armani & wearing over 200 carats of Tiffany jewels. ππ Her stylist is 2nd to none. β‘2-Alexandra Daddario in Dior. Utterly stunning to me. I had to post 2 pics. π β‘3-Zuri Hall in a fantastic feathery gown. *still searching for the designer β‘4-Elle Fanning wearing a custom gown by costume designer Sharon Long. Her hair and makeup.. L O V E β‘5-RuPaul-I could not not post the always fabulous RuPaul. This leopard tux made my mouth drop. I’m a sucker for leopard. π
Frown lines or worry lines are the vertical lines that appear between your eyebrows. Many people call them WTF lines, especially put to use after these last few years (or if you have a teenager). π “They are the result of your forehead muscles squeezing inward as you furrow your brows.” These lines drive me bonkers. The crows feet don’t bother me as much, for some reason. I think it’s because the “crows” show up when you’re smiling or laughing. The lines comes with age but it also reflects happiness on a face. However, if I can help diminish the appearance of the lines in and around my eyes without having to get botox, sign me up. I am not opposed to trying botox, I’m just chicken. Someday I’ll attempt it. Maybe. I don’t love how my face is slowlllly slumping downwards. π
My go to eye cream forever has always been Shiseido Benefience. It’s a heavier cream so I’ve been searching for another that’s a little lighter in consistency. These 2 are IT. Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Eye Zone Treatment. Quite a mouthful, hehe, but highly effective after 2 short months. I use this in the morning before my daily serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. 2nd up is 5 Stars by Sunday Riley. Sunday Riley is a fairly newer company, established in 2009. I love that they do absolutely NO animal testing. This serum is also Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Phthalate-Free, Fragrance-Free and Vegan. I’ve blogged about their Good Genes serum that I absolutely am crazy in love with. Use the 5 Stars eye serum in the evenings, under or over your night time moisturizer. I should have taken a picture of my WTF lines prior to use. It has helped IMMENSELY! The eyes are the window to your soul. Keep them happy. π
The theme for this years Met Gala was Gilded Glamour. There were so many fashion pieces that were breathtaking. But nothing compared to Blake Lively’s reveal, imo. She is is always dressed and styled fabulously. But this gown=Absolutely STUNNING. It was a true homage to New York’s Gilded Age. Her Versace dress, had significance with the color and design. When the Statue of Liberty was unveiled in 1886, it was copper. Over the years, oxidation turned the landmark green. Her gown was embroidered w/ a celestial map on the train inspired by the twelve zodiac constellations which are on the ceiling of New Yorkβs Grand Central Terminal. Lively accessorized the look with a Lorraine Schwartz crown, a nod to the one worn by Lady Liberty. I included a short video link of her gown “transformation” live. Perfection!
Still trying to get over the shocking moment at The Oscars. π± Here are my fashion picks. -Jessica Chastain in Gucci. O M G. Fabulous, jaw dropping. -Lupita Nyong’o in Prada. Pure gold, always. -Demi Singleton in Miu Miu. Lovely in lilac. -Zendaya in Valentino. ππ -Mila Kunis in Zuhair Murad Couture. -Serena Williams in Gucci. π -Wesley Snipes dapper in Givenchy. -Diane Warren, legendary songwriter with THE BEST clutch everrrr. Need. π π π
So one of my besties bought me this lovely sleep mask set. It is made of silk on the inside. At 1st, I was like hmmm. I’ve tried one before a long time ago and I don’t remember why I stopped using it. Maybe it slipped off in the night as it was too loose. Who knows. But this has been a GAME CHANGER for me. I always wake up in the night thinking someone like the Grim Reaper or an ax murderer will be standing in the hallway, watching me sleep. *said bestie and I watch too many scary shows and movies, clearly. π€ͺπ I’ve been using the mask for several weeks now and I’ve been pretty much sleeping through the night since!! π It feels snug but not tight and keeps the light and boogey monsters out of sight. Here’s the link to the one I was gifted. But of course, you can find another (would recommend silk) elsewhere. Happy sleeping! π΄ π€ https://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=7711710120000&pcid=999&vid=1&searchText=Silk+mask#pdp-page-content
So I HAD to purchase Jennifer Aniston’s new hair care line-LolaVie. Had to. I mean, her hair is stunning and #hairgoals, let’s be real. And I’m a HUGE fan of her, like so many. LolaVie only has 2 products currently. The Perfecting Leave-In and the Glossing Detangler. They are 99% naturally derived. Vegan, Cruelty-free, Gluten- free, Color Safe and free of silicone, sulfates, parabens and phthalates. I applied the detangler 1st then the leave in, and blow dried. The result is π No frizz like when I usually blow dry it. My hair felt soft but didn’t make it flat and it has great shine. The fragrance is light and lovely. π http://www.lolavie.com π
A completely unedited photo of me directly after applying this treatment. Please ignore my unruly eyebrows. π¬ I am a product junkie. I am also completely overwhelmed with the billions of products out there. It seems everyone and their mother has a product line! I have tried TONS of pricey and affordable serums. Many were “cult favorites” which, really, what does that even mean? The problem is everyone’s skin is very unique, has different needs and is quite frankly, moody. Especially in your 40’s and beyond. What works for JLo is not necessarily going to work for you. It’s really not a fair statement to say “You’ll look like me if you use my product.” Let’s be real. JLo has a good amount of $$ to help keep her beautiful face glowy and dewy that doesn’t only come from her products. So I am just sharing MY experience with this serum that is working wonderfully for me and maybe you’ll like it too. I heard about Sunday Riley “Good Genes” from sweet Drew Barrymore. She’s a huge fan. I use it daily after my face wash and toner, before my eye cream, moisturizer and SPF. It helps with dark circles, pores, and uneven dull skin. And it is shown to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and is cruelty-free! I LOVE it. Give it a try and let me know! π
